Michael Biedowicz (1955) after ten years as a theater photographer at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, beginning to work as a picture editor („Bildende Kunst“, “taz” and „Wochenpost“). Since 1997 worked for the weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT, since 2007 picture editor of ZEITmagazin. Further work as a curator and gallery owner at pavlov’s dog Berlin and participation in various juries (jury chairman of German Youth Photo Prize, PANL – Photographers Association of the Netherlands, Körber Foundation, Lotto Art Prize Berlin / Brandenburg).

Guest lecturer at the MERZ Academy Stuttgart and New School of Photography in Berlin. 2014 Appointed member of the German Society for Photography (DGPh).

Katharina Lee Chichester – is an art historian working in Berlin. She was associate researcher at the Cluster of Excellence “Image Knowledge Gestaltung” at Humboldt University in Berlin from 2014 to 2017 and co-curator of the exhibition +ultra. knowledge & gestaltung shown at the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin in 2016/17. In 2009, she re-founded the Kleine Humboldt Galerie, which she co-directed until 2014 and for which she curated a number of group exhibitions, also in collaboration with Berlin Art Week and the Project Space Festival (Seeing Things 2011, Beautiful Minds 2013, Raumbestandserhebung 2014). Her work focuses on artistic research, embodied knowledge, and intersections of art and science.

Katharina Lee Chichester – jest historykiem sztuki pracującym w Berlinie. W latach 2014-2017 prowadziła badania naukowe w Cluster of Excellence “Image Knowledge Gestaltung” na  Uniwersytecie Humboldta w Berlinie. Była również współorganizatorem wystawy +ultra. knowledge & gestaltung pokazanej w Martin-Gropius-Bau w Berlinie w 2016/17. W 2009 r. odtwożyła Galerię Kleine Humboldt, której działanie współreżyserowała do 2014 r., dla której zorganizowała wiele wystaw jako grupowych jako kurator. Maira Dudareva, the head of the Latvian Museum of Photography has a long running experience in photography. She worked as head of photo archive of the main Latvian daily newspaper “Diena” (1999 – 2008), head of “Diena” photo department (1998 – 1999) and as photoreporter for several Latvian newspapers (1992 – 1998). She did her MA research on digital photography indexation at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Latvia, where she is currently enrolled in the doctoral program (from 2006). She is  a curator, lecturer  in Latvia Culture College and portfolio reviewer   at Kaunas Photo Star festival in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014,2016 in Bratislava Photo Month 2012, in ISSP 2012, 2013, 2014  , Riga Photo Month 2014, and Lodz  Fotofestiwal , Photolux Festival 2015.

April Gertler (US) received her BFA (1997) at the California College of the Arts, Oakland, CA and her MFA (2002) at Bard College, New York. After studying at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, Germany in 2003, she moved to Berlin where she has been based since 2005. April is the Founding Director of PICTURE BERLIN which she started in 2009. PICTURE BERLIN is a hybrid residency / art academy based in Berlin which engages the international residents in an ongoing dialogue on photography and contemporary art through walks, exhibitions, one on one meetings, and discussions. April has done photographic portfolios in Lódz, Poland, Syracuse, New York, Aerø, Denmark, Copenhagen, Denmark and San Francisco, California. April has run numerous programs in Berlin with a variety of American institutions including University Southern California, LA; California College of Art, San Francisco Art Institute, Memphis College of Art, and Parsons New School, New York. She is currently a guest faculty member in the Humanities, the Arts and Social Thought department at Bard Berlin College in Berlin, Germany. In addition, April is a working artist herself.

Marek Grygiel – art historian, 1990-2015 photography curator  in the Centre of Contemporary Art in Warsaw.  Expert in portfolio reviews at numerous national and international photography festivals,  such as Mesac Fotografie-Bratislawa, Fotofest-Houston, Image Festival-Aarhus, Photo Festival-Kaunas, Krakow Photomonth Festival, Photofestival Łódź, and many other. Curator of numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad.  Founder and editor of  photographic journal FOTOTAPETA (online version in the last several years). Cooperated with, among others, Images, European Photography, Foto, Exit, Photography, Sztuka.pl, Imago. Photoeditor for Gazeta Wyborcza. Honorary member of ZPAF and member-correspondent of Deutsche Fotografische Akademie.

Markus Hartmann (1962) publisher, Curator, Author, Agent. Director Hartmann Projects, Hartmann Books, Stuttgart trained artbook publishing at Verlag Gerd Hatje and studied at Stuttgart Media University afterwards, from 1990 until 2013 publishing director photography and contemporary art at Hatje Cantz Publishers. Started Hartmann Projects with his wife Angelika Hartmann in 2013 and Hartmann Books in 2016, a company for curating, exhibition organisation and publishing photography and art books. Occasional contributor to magazines and blogs, writing on photography and book related themes. Curated shows for the Rencontres d’Arles with Markus Brunetti (2015) and Alfred Seiland – Imperium Romanum (2016). Currently working on exhibitions with Peter Bialobrzeski, Alfred Seiland, Ingar Krauss, lives in and works from Stuttgart

Hubert Humka – Ph.D. in art, lecturer at the Film School in Łódź, curator, artist. Author of the award-winning album „Evil Man. He explores quasi-document and authenticity of photographic medium in various contexts. Winner of many international competitions: Prix Voles Off: Selections 2013 The Rencontres d’Arles Off Festival, France; Photo Diploma Award 2013, Poland. Has exhibited in Poland and abroad.

Hubert Humka – dr sztuki, wykładowca Szkoły Filmowej w Łodzi, kurator, artysta. Autor nagradzanego albumu „Evil Man”. Bada quasi dokument oraz eksploruje w różnych kontekstach autentyczność medium fotografii. Laureat międzynarodowych konkursów: Prix Voies Off: Selections 2013 The Rencontres d’Arles Off Festival, Francja; Photo Diploma Award 2013, Polska. Wystawiał   w kraju i za granicą.

Grzegorz Jarmocewicz – artisic director of the International Photography Festival Bialystok INTERPHOTO, PhD in Art, lecturer, curator, juror of photography competitions. President of the Photography and Multimedia Forum Association – main organizer of INTERPHOTO. Author of many exhibitions in Poland and abroad, as well as publications about photography. His works can be found in private collections, at the Center for Contemporary Art Zamek Ujazdowski  in Warsaw, Museo Ken Damy in Brescia in Italy, in the Regional Museum in Suwalki and Ludwik Zamenhof Centre in Bialystok.

Grzegorz Jarmocewicz – dyrektor artystyczny Międzynarodowego Festiwalu Fotografii Białystok INTERPHOTO, dr sztuki, wykładowca, kurator, juror konkursów fotograficznych. Prezes stowarzyszenia Forum Fotografii i Multimediów – głównego organizatora festiwalu. Autor wielu wystaw w kraju i za granicą oraz publikacji nt. fotografii. Mindaugas Kavaliauskas is a curator, consultant, publisher of photography.

In 2004 he founded KAUNAS PHOTO festival, that he has been directing ever since. KAUNAS PHOTO is the longest-running art photography festival in the Baltic states. It focuses on works of emerging photographers and great underexposed photography from all over the world. Mindaugas Kavaliauskas was studying photography and art history in Kaunas Vytautas Magnus Universty, Ecole Nationale de la Photographie in Arles, ENSB-A Paris and UNIL Lausanne. He was interning at the Rencontres d’Arles and Musee de l’Elysee, Lausanne. Consequently, he has been teaching photography in different universities, schools and consulting artists. He has curated a number of exhibitions in photographic festivals, galleries, museums in Europe and Asia – Pacific region: FotoGrafia (Rome), Fotohonap (Budapest), Photaumnales (Beauvais, France), Photodemer (Vannes, France), Backlight (Tampere, Finland), Pingyao and Lishui festivals (China), Auckland festival of photography (New Zealand) etc. He reviews portfolios in festivals, such as Fotofest (Houston), Atlanta Celebrates Photography (USA), Photo Espana (Madrid), Eyes-On (Vienna), numerous others, including the domestic portfolio review competition KAUNAS PHOTO STAR.

Anna Kędziora (1982)  dr sztuki, artystka wizualna i kuratorka, adiunkt w Katedrze Fotografii oraz kierownik studiów niestacjonarnych na Wydziale Komunikacji Multimedialnej na Uniwersytecie Artystycznym w Poznaniu. Od 2011 współtworzy międzynarodowy konkurs Poznań Photo Diploma Award. Kuratorka wystaw fotograficznych (m.in. podczas Photokina Academy w Kolonii/2014, 9 Biennale Fotografii w Poznaniu/2015, festiwalu TIFF we Wrocławiu/ 2016, Europejskiego Miesiąca Fotografii w Berlinie/2016). Prezentowała swoje prace na wystawach indywidualnych, zbiorowych oraz na konferencjach w Polsce, Niemczech, Hiszpanii, Grecji, Walii, Szwecji, na Białorusi, Litwie i Słowacji. Prowadzone przez nią badania i działania artystyczne obejmują zagadnienia relacji  fotografii i języka, fotografii i pamięci, napięć na styku natury i kultury, natury uwikłanej w historię, krajobrazu i władzy.

Anna Kedziora (PhD), visual artist and curator, assistant professor and the head of part-time studies in the Photography Department at the University of Arts in Poznan, Poland. Co-founder and manager of an international photography competition Poznan Photo Diploma Award (since 2011). Curator of photography exhibitions (among others: during Photokina Academy in Cologne, DE,  2014; the 9th Photography Biennale in Poznan, PL 2015 and TIFF festival in Wroclaw, PL 2016, European Month of Photography in Berlin, DE, 2016. Presented her works in several individual and group exhibitions and conferences in Poland, Germany, Spain, Greece, Wales, Sweden, Belarus, Lithuania and Slovakia. Her research and artworks embrace: photography and language, photography and memory, tensions between nature and culture, nature embedded in history, landscape and power.

Grzegorz Kosmala – founder, publisher and editor-in-chief of the doc! photo magazine, an international quarterly mook dedicated to contemporary documentary photography. The originator and juror of DEBUTS project promoting the most talented emerging Polish photographers. Prior to founding the magazine, he supervised the 7th and 8th edition of the BZ WBK Press Foto, one of the Poland’s biggest press photography competitions. He graduated from Media Management and International Relations and Diplomacy at the Nowy Sącz School of Business.

Grzegorz Kosmala – założyciel i redaktor naczelny w DOC!PhotoMagazine, juror międzynarodowych  konkursów fotograficznych, inicjator projektu DEBUTS promującego młodych artystów z dziedziny fotografii.

Dawid Misiorny – absolwent Wydziału Kulturoznawstwa UAM w Poznaniu oraz Intermediów na Wydziale Komunikacji Multimedialnej UAP. Obecnie student Interdyscyplinarnych Studiów Doktoranckich na Wydziale KM UAP oraz wykładowca Akademii Fotografii w Warszawie.

Jego prace pokazywane były na wielu wystawach indywidualnych, m.in: Galeria Piekary, galeria Zpaf w Krakowie; oraz zbiorowych, m.in: Miesiąc Fotografii w Krakowie, Biennale Fotografii w Poznaniu, Galeria Bunkier Sztuki w Krakowie. Swoje prace I teksty publikował między innymi w: Kwartalnik Fotografia, magazyn Punkt, magazyn Szum, PIG, Holy Ghost, Romka magazine, Artforum. W roku 2012 został laureatem Miesiąca Fotografii. W 2013 pełnił funkcję jurora podczas Warsaw Photo Days. W latach 2012-2013 współpracował z Self Publish, Be Happy w Londynie, w roku 2014 założył magazyn poświęcony współczesnej fotografii Magenta.

Thomas Licek – born 1963 in Vienna/Austria. Working as an Art Manager since 1991, he is organizing the Month of Photography in Vienna since its first edition in 2004. Since 2008 Managing Director of Eyes On – Month of Photography Vienna, he is currently also President of the European Month of Photography (EMOP), an international network including festivals in Athens, Berlin, Bratislava, Budapest, Ljubljana, Luxembourg, Paris, and Vienna.

Gabriella Uhl, PhD (1970), art historian, curator, she is currently the docent of Art History and Theory department Kaposvár University and Metropolitan University, Budapest. Graduated first history and literature (MA) at the Eötvös Lóránd University (Budapest), writing her PhD thesis about the Central-European baroque literature. She studied economic at the Corvinus (Economical and Technical) University (Budapest) and graduated art history (MA) at Eötvös Lóránd University (Budapest). She worked as a researcher at the Hungarian Academy of Science afterwards as a chief curator of the Ernst Museum. She spent four years in Baltic States working as a correspondent of the leading Hungarian art magazines and research fellow of the Contemporary Art Center (Tallinn, Riga).  She was the curator  of the Hungarian Pavilion at Venice Biennale, 2013.  She is working as an art critic and free-lance curator as well. She was the curator of Month of Photography (Budapest, Hungary) in 2012 and 2014, and the member of the curatorial board of European Month of Photography.  As a researcher she specialized on the marginal and gypsy art. She is the author of many publications on the contemporary Hungarian and Central-European art scene.
